That’s pretty much all you need to know. But in case you can’t figure it out, those are Cole Hamels’ numbers from this evening’s game. 13 strikeouts over 8 innings and a 70% strike ratio - just 1 walk. More importantly, the Phillies won and the Mets lost - again. 1 game up with 2 to play. Unbelievable. Maybe Sunday’s game won’t even matter. The cool thing is that Cole is now pretty much set up to pitch game 1 of the playoffs.
I realize there are lot’s of little fellows out there vying for Carmen’s affections already. But they’re going to have to come up with something to compete with this awesomeness. I suppose I could track down Mike Schmidt’s grand-kids if it doesn’t work out with Cole’s first born son.

Woah, Woah, Woah…slow down there, Daddy! You didn’t consult ME, the Mommy, on this. You think I’m gonna let my daughter date a Phillies ballplayer? Who are you kidding? If she dates ANY ballplayer it’s gonna be somone who plays for the Yankees (I want our daughter to be RICH)!!!!
Go Phillies!!! If the Braves aren’t making the cut, we need those Phillies to beat the stinky Mets!
