Yes - this post is adoption and CJ related. Because as she grows up, CJ will learn how painful it is to be a Phillies fan (Mitch who?). Is this the season at least some of the pain goes away? Will they finally make the playoffs instead of teasing us into the last week of the season as they’ve done so many times? We know the offense and defense are among the best in the league, but will their pitching hold up through the weekend?
All I know is that I’d much rather the Phillies be playing the Mets this weekend so they could have more control. Tonight is a must win considering their ace, Cole Hammels is starting.
The scenarios for making the playofs are insanely complicated. There could be multiple 1 game playoffs and even coin flips to determine the final results. The race out West is even more messy since 3 teams are in it for the division and wild card.
My prediction? The Diamondbacks end the Rockies run and win the West. San Diego chokes in Milwaukee and leave the door open for an East team to take the Wild Card The Phils and Mets both sweep their season ending series at home and remain tied. In that scenario, the Phils take the division because they clobbered the Mets during the regular season. But the Mets grab the wild card spot anyway.
After that? Could they be in for another showdown in the National League Championship Series? Will we ever finish the baby room?

Man, I PRAY you are wrong about my Rockies. We are on an 11-game winning streak. That is the longest winning streak in franchise history! Guess we’ll find out tonight if the streak continues . . .

I would really be upset if I have to make you lasagna and new shoes. I am never one to set ultimatums but you have until the 13th. I will wait for your answer at Coney Island. (After we eat hot dogs of course)
