It finally happened. I am ashamed to admit, I did not think it would. In fact, like most Phillies fans, I was absolutely convinced they would find a way to fail. They’ve been close with inferior competition the past 4 years and failed.
Yet, in this most improbably way, the made the playoffs for the first time since 1993. Now what? With that lineup, Hamels, Kendrick, and Moyer starting, plus Romero, Gordon, and Meyers out of the bullpen - they should be able to handle a 5 game series against the Rockies or Padres. This is particularly with Hamels making at least 2 starts. After that, it gets dicier. The post-season is all about pitching. Maybe the Phils will hang in there, maybe not.
Charlie Manuel for Manager of the year? maybe.
Jimmy Rollins for MVP? after yesterday - definitely!

Go Indians.
Cheers from a fellow baseball fan!! So glad you are going to raise Carmen right
Hmm . . . I don’t know whether to be happy for you cuz I know what you are talking about or sad because I know you are going to be bummed when my Rockies kick butt . . . just teasing
But seriously I know what you are talking about. It was 12 years ago that the Rockies had a taste of the playoffs with the Wild Card position. Now we have a chance to go farther than ever before
Here’s to hoping!
“Jimmy Rollins for MVP? after yesterday - definitely!”
Ha! Not after Matt Holliday’s performance in last night’s game!
I’m rooting for Clint Hurdle for Manager of the Year and Troy Tulowitzki for Rookie of the Year. Not sure if it will happen but I hope.
