I don\\\’t really like tag lines much, so I\\\’m not using one. This is to show how wordpress cannot intepret apostrophes.

Ready

We’re ready.

I’m ready. The Read-Head is ready.

I’m ready to be the parent; the daddy.

I’m ready to put to use what I believe I’ve learned.

I’m ready be up late at night to deal with a sick or scared child, rather than simply because I can’t sleep.

I’m ready to be one of the guys on the project team that has to go home at a reasonable hour because his kids are waiting for him to assemble their latest toy.

I’m ready to display Carmen’s artwork in my cube alongside her picture.

I’m ready to stop talking about what we’ll do to ensure healthy attachment and adjustment and put those techniques to practice.

I’m ready to NOT be able to go to the movies whenever I want.

I’m ready to find out if the little clues about her personality we have from our visit trip and pictures hold true.

I’m ready to find out if the Red-Head let’s her hair grow long or keeps it trimmed short.

I’m ready to begin her training in eating extremely spicy food, so I can have someone in the house who can eat my habanero chili. I’m also ready to find out if she like BBQ, mac n cheese, pizza, and chicken pot pie.

I’m ready to also grab a pack of diapers to go along side the gallon of milk, lettuce, socks, windshield washer fluid, and light bulbs from Walmart.

I’m ready to find out how she does on an airplane; in a carseat; at Mom-Mom and Pop-Pop’s house with her cousins; on her Grand-dad’s boat.

I’m ready for all the people that have given us support, advise, and been a kind ear during our struggles and joys to finally meet her in person.

We are ready - mentally. The room is ready. If a baby showed up at the door right now, we’d be able to take care of it, for a few days at least (barring any unusual food needs) .

I’m betting on pictures to arrive this week. If they do, I’ll post some, along with some photos of CJs room all painted and set up. Then ya’ll will see why I didn’t actually do much blogging during the Christmas break - we were busy!!! I did catch up with all the bloggers and message boards I follow. Phew.

Not ready to go back to work though!

  1. I can imagine! We’re all ready, too! Ready to be happy, happy, happy along with and FOR you and your wife about the much-anticipated homecoming!

  2. I was so excited for you until I got to the last line.. the obligatory 5-day a week, 9-5 grudge. BUT… think how exciting it will be to go home to be greeted at the door by a happy-to-see-papa little girl everyday.

I hope things are going smoothly with Carmen’s adoption and she’ll be home soon!

  3. Sweet. :)
