OK, well, at least she’s outta PGN!

Just got the “official call” this afternoon. Finally the phone rang and someone from our adoption agency was on the other end. We kind a knew something must be up as we seemed to be passed by based on similar timelines. Not sure of any exact out dates or if there’s any additional progress though - our Social Worker was not in the office, so someone from the agency else called. It stinks that she didn’t get to share in that joyous phone call, considering how hard she’s worked to help us grow our family.

At any rate - she’ll call us Monday with more information and to arrange a travel meeting. That’s right - a travel meeting. Meaning - we’re traveling soon! Trying not to get ahead of ourselves here, but our lawyer in Guatemala is known for processing post-PGN cases pretty quickly. Still, there are limits to how fast this can happen. We’re looking at a March travel date at this point - and hoping we can get home somewhere around the Red Head’s birthday on the 14th.

I’m already pondering an FAQ as to what happens next - here’s a the short preview. CJ’s hometown will print a new birth certificate (kindof a strange requirement), the US Embassy will confirm who she is by checking her DNA again, then then the Embassy will issue us an appointment in Guatemala City. Once that happens, we’ll be booking plane tickets and finishing up our prep here at home.
