Well - long story short (seems to be normal lately) - our trip in late March has been scaled back. It is a business trip on which I had planned to bring CJ and the Red Head. However, with budgetary issues at work, my boss tells me to go, but scale back as much as I can. This means no rental car, smaller room, no extra days in the desert. So, it’s just not worth taking the family and I don’t want to have to spend the extra moola to make it work out either. We had been apprensive anyway because while Carmen is a pretty well behaved toddler, she’s at the point where there’s no way she’s interested in being confined to a tiny airplane seat lap for several hours. I’d do it if we had to, or if we had some grand vacation planned, but for this - it’s just not worth the hassle.
So…………..
That means the the ever adorable M will be transitioning a little bit more quickly than we originally planned. While a transition is still critical, we don’t have to drag it out either. We’re insanely excited, and I think Carmen is really starting to warm up to the idea. We’ll have her overnight next weekend - so please pray for her and us that things go smoothly. The kid’s been through a lot, so this needs to go well for her sake.
